I am also one of those, who received the EAD while the online case status reads as "Case Received and Pending"

Anti immigrants alerted politicians that giving EAD will flood job market and they must do something to stop this.

The point-based system will not be good for this country. Many other countries have point-based systems such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, etc. The most who immigrate in these countries on the point-based system don't have jobs. Only those should be allowed to immigrate who has the job offer here. All the immigration fees and expenses to immigrate should be borne by the employer offering the job.
Not only this, the people who promote this point-based system are interested in shutting off immgration based on family unification. Why you would not like your own family members to be here, when they all have been allowed until this day to bring their own family members from European countries.
No ones looking to shut off family immigration, it will never ever happen, they are only discussing "preferences" and for the most part its a no brainer that the qualified folks should get preference for the betterment of this country and to compete globally (if you view it from an american's point of view).
I don't know all the pros and cons but I don't see anything wrong in it.

My Employment Model: E/V/C = employer/vendor/client. Working with the same employer for 5th year now and after initial H1b (3 years) this is my second H1 B renewal)
Visa Officer: A Lady
Visa Officer's comments to me: Everything looks good but we need to do some additional admin review.
Documents requested: The application packet my company gave me. These were returned to me at the conclusion of the interview which lasted for about 3-4 minutes.
Subsequent correspondence: after interview I got a couple of emails (one email per week) asking me to submit the documents (I129, client letter, and any supporting documents)
Current status: last correspondence via email was on May 13th, no response as of yet.
Am I experiencing this because of my employment model? Any comments from anyone?
Did anyone else have similar experience? Anyone from Southeast Asia?
-Yes, this is because of E/V/C model. I have never come across such case (221g) if someone works at employer location, except one, that guy's passport had some issue, and his case got sort out with in a week, in-fact, he did not get 221g. I have not come across case with E/C model too.
-I know at least 7 guys with E/V/C model waiting in India because they got 221g, and still waiting for decision.

We do see such threads on the forum occasionally. There are several instances where members have posted negative comments about consulting companies and how employees are unhappy working for them.
I want to understand the reasons why people are not filing lawsuits against such companies yet? Why are we not reporting them to DOL and USCIS? Especially after filing I485 and expiry of 6 months, people are in a better position to file lawsuits against such employers.

Because this is the case where it is not clear if the H-1B was applied for before or after oct 2006 and if the H-4 was in H-1 status ever before.
We had applied in July 2006, last few days before the Quota got closed, she completed her Masters in July as well. For some reason it took all this while to get an approval even when converted to Premium in October, they sent a RFE for my H1 & paystubs later took for ever to acknowledge th erecieval and then fianlly approval, as i mentioned we are still waiting to see the approval document to make sure there is a I94 attached.

I know that nobody has an answer for my question, but still i would like to get the views/inputs from the seniors here , who have experience with USCIS.
When do you think a person with PD of Nov 2007 ,EB3 from India, would be able to file for 485??
As Lacrosse said most probably 3-4 years but you never know .. you can get lucky like this year when USCIS made everything current for July . If a month like that comes along then you would be able to file for AOS .
A miracle can happen but if it doesn't your wait time could be anything from 3 - 5 years or

btw how does ur employer expect that u not go to another company if u r going to lose ur job with him?
Looks like the OP works for a consulting company and his contract seems to be ending. Seems like there are no contract opportunities at this time but there are fulltime opportunities that match his profile.
His employer does not want him to leave the company but at the same time does not want any issues with benching so asked him to work using EAD during his last week.
His employer also threatening to withdraw 140 support if he leaves.
OP - as long as u r having a new job in hand, AC21 works just fine, so don't worry too much.
